Janelle Kanteluk
Registered Social Worker
B.S.W., R.S.W.Hi, I’m Janelle, a Registered Social Worker, and I have a particular interest in supporting individuals during the perinatal period and adolescence, stages of life that often involve significant emotional shifts, identity changes, and grief around how things were “supposed” to feel.
I offer counselling for a range of concerns, including:
~ Pregnancy, postpartum, parenting transitions, and perinatal grief and loss
~ Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm
~ Trauma and complex life experiences
~ Adolescence and identity development
~ Family and relational stress
~ Neurodevelopmental differences and emotional regulation challengesAs a mother of two who has navigated the transition into parenthood, I bring both lived experience and specialized perinatal mental health training into our work together.
My approach to counselling is relational, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I believe emotional distress makes sense within the context of your life, relationships, and broader systems. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, creating a space where you feel understood, respected, and safe enough to explore what you’re carrying.
I integrate evidence-informed approaches such as Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
Finding the right therapist matters. If you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, parenting stress, adolescence, or a major life transition, I invite you to reach out and see if we’re a good fit.

I offer individual and couples counselling for adults facing a wide range of challenges, including:
~ Anxiety and depression
~ Relationship and marital concerns
~ Trauma and PTSD
~ Addiction and substance use
~ Low self-esteem or self-worth
My counselling style is collaborative and client-centred, grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your own experience. I tailor therapy to meet your needs using tools from CBT, mindfulness, self-compassion practices, family of origin work, and solution-focused therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.
In couples therapy, I provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space to improve communication, deepen connection, and work through conflict. Together, we’ll explore emotional patterns and relational dynamics with curiosity and care.

Outside of my counselling work, I’m a husband, father of two, and lifelong musician. I see strong parallels between music and therapy—both involve courage, vulnerability, and a belief in growth through practice.
